WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Niagra St. Engine 2 was on location with heavy smoke showing from a 3 story MDU. B-43 requested an additional Engine and Truck company to the scene. The fire was under control in about 14 minutes.

MVA:
Buffalo Firefighters responded today for a report of a MVA at Elmwood and South Division. Command was on location reporting a rollover MVA and requested a 2nd ambulance and Rescue 1 to the scene for extrication.

WORKING FIRE:
Sheridan Park Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Woodward Ave. Sheridan Park 9 was on location reporting a working fire and ordered an exterior attack due to unknown conditions inside. SP9 requested Ellwoods' FAST team, 1 Engine from Brighton, and 1 Engine from Kenmore for fill-in. The fire was under control in about 50 minutes.

WATER RESCUE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded today for a report of children trapped on Cazenovia Creek @ S.Legion Rd. B-46 was on location with 2 children trapped in asmall boat on the creek and requested the Buffalo Police Underwater Rescue Team. Both children were rescued and no injuries were reported.
 
FATAL FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded today for a report of a structure fire on Nevada Ave. Engine 33 was on location with fire showing from a 2 1/2 story. E33 further reported one person trapped on the 2nd floor. Firefighters rescued the eldery woman who was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes

MVA:
West Falls Firefighters responded today for a report of a MVA at Route 78 and Centerline Rd. Command was on location reporting a one car MVA vs. pole and live wires down.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded tonight for a report of a structure fire on Armbruster St. Engine 22 was on location with fire showing from the first floor of a 2 1/2 vacant structure. The fire was declared under control in about 14 minutes.
 
GARAGE FIRE:
Kenmore Firefighters responded today for a report of a garage fire on Deleware Ave. Kenmore 9-1 was on location reporting a working garage fire with 3 cars inside. Mutual Aid was requested from Kenilworth (FAST) and Ellwood (1 Engine) for fill-in. The cause is listed as arson.
 
MVA:
Eden Firefighters responded today for a report of a MVA on New Oregon Rd @ Langford Rd. Command was on location reporting a car over the cliff and one person trapped.
 
WORKING FIRE/FIREFIGHTER INJURED:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Sweet Ave. Engine 22 was on location with fire showing from the rear of a 1 1/2 and an exposure problem. B-43 was reporting fire on the 1st with extension to all floors. B-56 requested additional equipment for the exposure bringing Engines 31,32 and Ladder 15. Ladder 14 reported a roof collapse on the exposure building and firefighters down. One firefighter from Engine 31 was transported with a leg injury. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK:
Scranton Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA at the intersection of Camp Rd & Route 20. Scranton 9 was on location reporting a car vs pedestrian MVA and requested a rush on Mercy Flight.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of an odor of smothing burning on Linwood Ave. Engine 37 was on location reporting smoke from the closet on the 1st floor of a MDU. B-44 requested the balance of the 1st alarm and reported a working fire inside the walls. The fire was under control in about 13 minutes.

WORKING FIRE:
Brighton Firefighters responded today for a report of a structure fire on Brighton Rd. Brighton 9 was on location reporting a working fire and requested Sheridan Park to the scene as the FAST team. Mutual Aid was also requested from Ellwood (1 Engine), Kenilworth (Heavy Rescue), and Ellicott Creek provided fill-in. The fire was under control in about 25 minutes.
 
INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT:
Vigilant Firefighters responded today for a report of an industrial accident at the MultiSorb Corp on Harlem Rd. Command was on location reporting a man with his hand caught in a machine and requested EMS to the scene.
 
MVA:
Vigilant Firefighters responded today for a report of a MVA on Route 400 at Union Rd. Command was on location reporting a rollover MVA with 1 person trapped. Command special called Mercy Flight to the scene and Mutual Aid from Seneca Hose.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a structure fire on Jones St. First-In Companies reported a working fire in a 2 1/2 story house.
 
MVA:
Big Tree Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a MVA on Southwestern Blvd. Command was on location reporting a truck vs. motorcycle MVA with one female patient unconcious.  Command special called Mercy Flight to the scene.

FATAL FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Alma Ave. Engine 23 was on location with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 1/2 story house. As Firefighters advanced the attack they found the body of a 5 yr old girl who was pronounced DOA at the scene.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded today for a report of a structure fire on Busti Ave. Engine 37 was on location reporting a 2 1/2 story well involved with exposures on the #2 & #4 side. B-44 reported an exposure involved and a 2nd alarm was sounded for exposure protection.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Bennett St & William St. Engine 3 was on location with heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor and attic of a 2 1/2 story vacant house. B-43 reported heavy fire on the 2nd floor with extension to the attic. B-56 declared the fire under control in about 14 minutes and arson was listed as the cause.
 
4 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Hertel Ave. near Military Ave. Engine 26 was on location with a fully involved large commercial warehouse. An exterior attack was ordered cause of the possibility of a collapse and toxic chemicals stored inside. Multiple alarms were sounded due to the size of the fireground. Firefighters battled this blaze all night and early today but no injuries were reported.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Seneca St. Engine 25 was on location with fire through the roof a 2 1/2 story house and fire through the roof of the #2 side exposure. B-46 requested a 2nd alarm to the scene for exposure protection.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on N. Parade St. Engine 24 was on location reporting a working fire in a 2 1/2 story frame.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Leroy St. Engine 24 was on location with a fully involved 2 story garage.

The Akron Fire Co. has recieved $90,225 from Round 5 of the FIREact grants for Fire Operations & Firefighter safety.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Zenner St. Engine 33 was on location with fire and smoke showing from the 1st floor of a 2 1/2 story. B-56 declared the fire under control in about 14 minutes and requested an emergency demolition. The cause is listed as arson.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire with people trapped on Deleware Ave. B-47 & Engine 19 were on location with heavy smoke showing  and fire on the 1st floor of a 2 1/2 story frame. The primary search was negative by Rescue 1 and the fire was declared under control in about 12 minutes.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Zenner St. Engine 33 was on location with smoke showing from a 2 1/2 frame. E33 reported fire on the 1st floor with extension to the 2nd. B-56 ordered an emergency demolition and declared the fire under control in about 14 minutes.
 
LEVEL 1 HAZMAT:
Buffalo Firefighters responded today for a report of a smoke cloud causing burning syptoms. Engine 22 was on location reporting a spent tear gas canister and requested HAZMAT 1 to the scene. There were 16 patients in all and multiple ambulances were requested to the scene.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on N.Ogden St. Engine 28 was on location with fire showing on the 1st floor of a 1 1/2 story house. B-46 requested National Fuel to the scene for a open gas line. The cause of the fire is listed as a gas explosion in the basement.
 
PERSON TRAPPED:
Hamburg Firefighters responded today for a report of a MVA on the I-90 @ the Rte 20 overpass. Command was on location reporting a rollover MVA and 1 person trapped.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire at 17th St & Massachusetts St. B-44 was on location with a 2 1/2 story vacant reporting fire in the rear stairwell and the attic fully involved. Ladder 9 was pulled from the roof due to a fear of collapse. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes.

Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Carl St. Engine 22 was on location with a 2 1/2 story and fire showing from the rear. The fire was under control in about 16 minutes and the cause has been listed as arson.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Grant St. Ladder 12 was reporting heavy smoke leaving their quarters. Engine 19 was on location with a 1 1/2 story and fire in the rear cottage. B-44 reported fire on the first with extension to the 2nd floor. The fire was under control in about 17 minutes.
 
FATAL FIRE:
Sloan Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Griffith St. Command was on location reporting a working fire with 2 people trapped on the roof and another victim inside. Command requested Doyle 1 (Engine) & Doyle 2 (Ladder) to the scene. On the primary search firefighters rescued 1 victim who was pronounced DOA at the hospital.

Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire on Swinburne St. Engine 22 was on location reporting fire showing on the 1st floor of a 2 1/2 story. An emergency demolition has been ordered and the cause was listed as arson. This makes the total for 2003 arson fires 193.
