BUFFALO FD RALLY:

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Jefferson Ave. Engine 21 was on location with fire showing on the 2nd floor and attic of a 2 1/2 story vacant. The fire was under control in about 22 minutes.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of smoke in the residence on Academy St. Engine 31 was on location reporting a working fire in the walls and requested the balance of the first alarm. The fire was under control in about 11 minutes.
 
GRANT MONEY:
The following Fire Companies were awarded grants under the FireAct Grant for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety.. Ellicott Creek $50,805 and Crittenden $60,300.

FIREHOUSE CLOSINGS:
As of this Saturday (11/1/03) the Buffalo Fire Department is closing Engine 10 and Ladder 11 due to budget cuts proposed by the mayor. If you have any feelings on this topic please visit the message board and post them. We would all like to see them.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Grant St at Forest Ave. Engine 19 was on location reporting a working fire.

2 ALARM HIGH RISE FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of an activated master box on Deleware Ave. Engine 37 was on location with smoke showing from a 7 story building. B44 requested the balance of the first alarm and a second alarm to the scene. Engine 37 further reported a fire in the basement with smoke conditions throughout the building. The fire was under control in about 14 minutes.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on E.Utica St. Engine 21 was on location with a fully involved 2 1/2 story under construction and an exposure problem on the #2 side. E21 requested additional equipment bringing Engine 37 and Ladder 7 to the scene. B-44 requested a 2nd alarm to the scene bringing Engines 2 & 31, Ladder 9 to the scene. The fire was under control in about 47 minutes.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire at 269 Vermont St. Engine 37 was on location with a well involved 2 1/2 story frame.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded 2 hours later for a report of a structure fire to 271 Vermont St. Engine 37 was on location with a working fire in a 2 1/2 story.

2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Adams St. Engine 3 reported smoke as they pulled out of quarters. Upon arrival Engine 3 reported two 2 1/2 story houses well involved with reports of children trapped. B-43 requested additional equipment (Engines 1 & 25, Ladder 2) and reported heavy fire conditions. B-56 ordered an emergency evacuation of the buildings due to a possible flash over and requested a 2nd alarm assignment. The fire was under control in about 60 minutes and an emergency demolition for both structures has been ordered.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Strauss Ave. Engine 3 was on location reporting a working attic fire in a 2 1/2 story. B43 reported an exposure on the #2 side and B56 requested an additional truck for the FAST team bringing Ladder 9 to the scene. The fire was declared under control in about 22 minutes.
 
FIREHOUSE CLOSINGS:
The Buffalo Control Board has approved the mayors budget plan which calls for 3 fire companies within the city to be closed by March.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of smoke in the building on Niagra St. Engine 2 was on location with smoke showing and B-43 requested the balance of the 1st alarm to the scene. E2 further reported a room and contents fire.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a garage fire on Domedion Ave. Engine 31 was on location with a fully involved 2 car 1 story garage. The fire fire was under control in about 22 minutes.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Academy Rd. Engine 31 was on location with smoke showing. E31 further reported a working basement fire.

Rapids Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a structure fire at Goodrich Rd and Tonawanda Creek Rd. Rapids 9-3 was on location with a fully involved structure fire and special called Clarence Center (FAST) and Swormville (1 Engine) to the scene.
