WORKING FIRE:
South Line Firefighters responded early this morning for a report of a structure fire at the Idylewood Apartments. Command was on location reporting a working fire in the basement. One victim was rescued from the balcony and treated for smoke inhalation.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Village of Hamburg Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a structure fire in the Evans St Industrial Park. Hamburg 9-1 was on location with fire through the roof and heavy fire conditions throughout. Residents in nearby homes were evacuated due to possible chemicals in the fire building. Several companies responded for Mutual Aid: Eden, Scranton, Woodlawn, Lakeview, Lakeshore, Newton Abbott, and Big Tree.

WORKING FIRE:
Eggertsville Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a structure fire on Monarch Dr. Command was on location declaring a working fire and requested mutual aid bringing Snyder, Kenilworth, Ellicott Creek, and North Bailey Firefighters to the scene.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday morning for a report of a structure fire on Box Ave. Engine 33 was on location with heavy fire in the rear of a 2 1/2 story. B-56 ordered an emergency demolition of the structure.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Landon St. Engine 33 was on location with heavy fire on the first floor of a 2 1/2 story. B56 reported extension throughout the building and special called Engine 31 and Ladder 15 to the scene. The fire was declared under control in about 18 minutes.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a basement fire on Bennett Village Terrace. Engine 34 was on location with a working basement fire in a 2 story apartment building. Ladder 7 reported extension to the 1st and 2nd floors through the heat vents. The fire was declared under control in about 15 minutes.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Bailey Ave. Engine 23 was on location with heavy fire conditions in a 1 story 3 car garage attached to a 1 1/2 building. The fire was under control in about 19 minutes.

FATAL MVA:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA on Miami St near Louisianna St. Engine 1 was on location with a mini van vs a cement truck head on collision. E1 reported 1 victim DOA and requested B-43 and Rescue 1 to the scene for extrication.

WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening for a report of a structure fire on Ledger St. Engine 36 and B-44 were on location with a 2 1/2 story house and fire on the 2nd floor kitchen and extension into the walls. The fire was declared under control in about 7 minutes.
 
GRANT MONEY:
The following companies have recieved grants under the 2003 FIREACT Grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety. Depew $92,932 and Clarence Center $28,259.

BUFFALO FIRE CHIEF RESIGNS:
Buffalo Fire Departments' Chief Calvin G. Worthy resigned yesterday as protest to the recent and future cuts in the department by the city. Click Here for story
 
DOUBLE FATAL MVA:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA at Jefferson Ave and Broadway. Engine 3 was on location with a 2 car MVA, 3 victims, and 2 DOA.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Sweet Ave. Engine 22 was on location with a 2 1/2 vacant heavy fire in the rear and extending throughout. B-56 reported the 2nd floor and attic fully involved and requested an additional Engine and Ladder company. The fire was under control in about 26 minutes.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Newstead Firefighters responded last night for a report of smoke in the residence on Sandlane Rd. Newstead 9-2 was on location reporting a working fire and requested a 2nd alarm mutual aid from Clarence Center, Akron, & Swormville as the FAST team.

WIRES DOWN:
Fire Companies throughout Erie County and Buffalo were kept busy yesterday responding for calls of wires down due to the high winds.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Harris Hill Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a structure fire on Ledge Lane. Command was on location with a well involved 2 1/2 story house. Several Amherst companies responded for mutual aid. The cause is under investigation.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Forks Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a transformer down and possible fire at Borders Bookstore on Walden Ave. Forks 9-3 was on location with a transfomer down and a fire on the outside of the building. The fire extended to the inside but was extinguished upon arrival.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Lake Shore Firefighters responded yesterday for a report of a garage fire on LakeShore Rd. Command was on location with a fully involved attached garage and extension into the house.

2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded this afternoon for a report of a structure fire oin Hughes St. Engine 21 was on location with fire on the 2nd floor and attic of a 2 1/2 occupied. E21 also reported exposures on the #2 and #4 sides. B-56 requested a 2nd alarm for manpower.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Orchard Park Fire Companies responded today for a report of a structure fire on Sheldon Rd. Orchard Park Police were on location reporting a gas meter on fire with extension to the structure and requested fire to expedite.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Sloan Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Halstead Ave. Sloan 9 was on location reporting a working fire in a 2 1/2 story occupied frame and requested mutual aid from Doyle 1 & 2 (Doyle1 Engine/ Doyle2 Heavy Rescue)

MVA:
Doyle Firefighters responded last night for a report of a MVA on the I-90 at exit 52E. Doyle2 9-3 was on location with a 3 car MVA. D2 9-3 further reported 3 patients ALS 1 needing extrication and requested multiple ambulances to the scene.

MVA:
Orchard Park Firefighters responded this morning for a report of a MVA on Southwestern Blvd at Webster Rd. Command was on location with a car vx truck MVA. Command also reported 1 critical patient needing extrication and requested Mercy Flight to the scene.
 
WORKING FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded last night for a report of a structure fire on Mill St. Engine 3 was on location with smoke from the eves of a 2 1/2. E3 further reported a well involved attic fire. The fire was under control in about 22 minutes.
 
2 ALARM FIRE:
Buffalo Firefighters responded yesterday morning for a report of a structure fire on Hopkins St. Engine 25 was on location with a 2 1/2 story fire on the 2nd floor with extension to the attic. The rear stairwell collapsed and B-46 requested the 2nd alarm for manpower.
